Mirorrball is a card game made from cut-ups of Self Service magazines. Each card is a mirror. The game opens conversations, shifts perspectives, breaks patterns, and sparks new ideas.
-
Each round, one player steps to the center with an intention that sets the tone of the play. An intention is the direction the player brings to the reading.
It can be light and fun, deep and mental—personal or collective. Honesty is the key; the game runs on it.
Examples:
“How should I approach the next 5 years of my life?”
“What kind of trouble should I start tonight?”
“How can I get laid or find love?”
“What’s my next bold move?”
“Who or what deserves my time right now?”
“What do my obsessions reveal?”
Being a bit specific often makes the game more revealing. -
Find the Anchor Card and place it in front of the player. With their intention in mind, the player fans out all the cards, face down. The player chooses six cards and set them around the Anchor Card, still face down.
The Anchor maps past, present, future, physical, mental, spiritual. -
The player with the intention reveals the six cards one by one, in the order of their choosing.
After each reveal, everyone shares their reflection on how the card gives a meaning to the player’s intention—Some cards might feel obvious, others remain a mystery.
Just surrender to attraction and use it to find meaning in the cut-ups. -
All orbits end with the landing. The player with the intention can submit their spread to Mirorrball for a memory to keep. The Landing is where discovery takes shape.
Once the landing has been revealed, another player can step up and share their intention.
